Rise is more than a gym,
it's a lifestyle & community.
Staff & Instructors
I am the Founder and Co-Owner of Rise Kickbox. I bring a 15 year career of international competitions in amateur & professional Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have had the honor to train under world champions and coach students throughout the US, China and Thailand. I was also fortunate enough to take on the opportunity as a cast member on one of the original Ultimate Fighter seasons. My passion of health and wellness is expanded as an avid practitioner of weight training, cardio, plyometrics, yoga and nutrition. My experience spans with clients from all age ranges to achieve their fitness and personal goals. I am confident that I can do the same for you.
I am lucky to have a facility of my own to be able to pass on the knowledge that has been bestowed upon me and continue to grow with our members and staff.

I am a Co-Owner of and Instructor at Rise Kickbox. Started my journey into Muay Thai and Boxing 12 years ago while living in Los Angeles. As assistant manager of Meridian’s Bodies in Motion for several years I was introduced to a variety of instructors with whom I trained with. I’ve taken various aspects and techniques from each of them and have created my own method of teaching, which I bring to Rise.
When I’m not kicking and punching the pads you’ll find me honing my crafts in the kitchen, as an actor (mostly in commercials) and as Mom to our amazing son, Devin.
I am also a co-owner and substitute teacher at Rise Kickbox. I have been interested in MMA, May Thai and boxing since the mid ’90’s. Having been a student of several different striking arts has helped me realize there is not just one way to do something. I focus on what style/technique best suits your body mechanics.
When I’m not teaching at Rise you’ll find at my personal training studio in South Austin, messing around with my aquarium at home or taking our son around town to his various extra-curricular activities. You may also find me on the mat at Rise taking class!
Janae Hildreth started boxing to get in shape after hitting the scale at just under 240 pounds. She started lifting weights and eating right. After a few months in your run of the mill gym she wanted a little more excitement in her workouts. She signed up for her first boxing class in 2011 and found that it came naturally to her. After 8 months of class work she decided to try sparring. That was it for her. She knew she wanted to compete.
After hard training she won 2013 golden gloves regional championship. Then went on to place runner up in 2016 national Golden Gloves. She loves to teach as much as she loves to box. Her laid back style is for anyone wanting to release some stress and get in shape while learning proper boxing technique.
Mike is a professional MMA fighter with a record of 10-6. He comes from the Subfighter MMA Fight Team under Adam Lynn. He has trained in kickboxing, Muay Thai and also has a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Martial Arts has been a part of Mike’s life for the past 10 years.
Mike recently moved to Austin from Orange County, CA and is a fantastic addition to the team here at Rise.
Dave has been training in kickboxing for over 3 years. As a lifelong boxing enthusiast, he made the decision to begin martial arts training in order to get into shape and challenge himself. He competed for the first time (as a Rise member) in the fall of 2018 and looks forward to doing it again soon.
Outside of kickboxing Dave’s biggest passions are music/songwriting, welding and travel. He also has a ranch in South Texas that he co-owns and helps operate.
